I´m So Vain….This Blog is About Me

Baby Shower Saturday

I received these beautiful spring flowers from my husband and daughter today after they returned from shopping. My daughter picked them out herself and she told me they only cost 1 Euro! I questioned that and she said, no, it was written on a leaf….I suspect a digit was missing.

I am off to my baby shower soon and quite excited, though I have a bit of a problem in my head about the fact I will be bringing things home without having completed all my baby based decluttering yet. Not that I am expecting a mountain of things (its a small shower with my Munich friends), but I need to do justice to my soon to be new arrival by having the baby corner and drawers “nice”.

UPDATE: Had a wonderful day with my incredible friends who spoilt me rotten. I feel very blessed and loved.

I received an equal amount of useful and beautiful baby things as well as consumable, non-cluttering pampering things for me :) .

Holidays and Entertaining Friends…

…has taken its toll on my organising activities, but in an enjoyable way. Just keeping the house tidy with the kids home full time and cooking more meals than usual, has left no time to declutter. I must also confess that I have ended up getting engrossed in a 1000 piece jigsaw of a lion- an unnecessary distraction, however at the same time something for my mind and a bit of relaxation. My seven year old daughter was given it for her birthday, however it´s too hard for her. She comes over every now and again to see how I am going!

Tomorrow, though I am going to try and do something from my lists! I am not going to commit to anything in particular though :)

Pancakes!

Well, I didn´t get any “extra” work done today beyond cleaning up the house, grocery shopping (with both kids took three times as long as it should have) and making two batches of pancakes. My gluten-free friend Barbara made buckwheat “American style” ones as well.

I used this recipe (and watched the video first) from The Times. They turned out perfectly and the photo above is the leftovers from the second batch my seven year old daughter made by herself. We ate them with blueberries, strawberries and cream from a can! Yum!

I have a great frying pan from Tefal (non-stick) that I bought two years ago- it´s the pancake pan and it works perfectly. One of those items that really is worth having with only a single use. My husband missed out as he works away every week, so maybe we will do this again this weekend.
